There will be no Remsen Runaround Race this year.


The Remsen Runaround, a 5K road race, is held the 1st Saturday in August (August 1, 2009). The runners board the Adirondack Scenic Railroad train at Remsen and ride north to the crossing at Old Route 12. The runners then deboard the train and wait for the start of the race - the train whistle. The run is down the old state road back through the village to the Depot. There are protected intersections and water stations along the course. Awards and refreshments are provided to the runners. Note: the train originates in Utica so it is possible to ride to the race from Utica. However, the train continues on to Old Forge for the day. It does not return until 5:30.
